This 1/4 size version of the Laser was adapted by Jon Elmaleh, an industrial designer and RC sailor, in collaboration with Bruce Kirby, designer of the full size Laser. True to the one-design philosophy of the original Laser, only stock original parts may be used. This means racing is close, from club races to championship regattas.
Simplicity and durability make the Laser a good choice for beginners, or anyone who wants to race without complication: one sail, one sheet, no standing rigging. The boat is easy to sail, but challenging to race. The polypropylene hull is virtually indestructible in normal use and radio gear is in a watertight compartment.
The RC Laser is 42” long with a 54” mast and 17” draft; it weighs 9 pounds. Complete boats, parts and advice can be obtained at: http://sailrclaser.com RC Laser Class Association NA website: http://rclaser.org/
